Mission Day is one of the highlights of our School Calendar.
It is when we celebrate being a Mission School.
'Our School cares and shares like Jesus, through serving others.
He Manaaki, He Atawhai'
The day starts with a school liturgy where we give thanks for the talents we have been given by our Heavenly Father.
We offer in thanksgiving the food items we brought in. These are taken to the local food bank.
share like jesus
Our Year 8 class made some amazing cakes for a silent auction. They also organised a variety of raffles. All the money raised on Mission Day is sent to people who are in need.
The day unfolds with us visiting each of the classes to share the fantastic art and technology we have been working on. This year the focus was Stewardship and the 5 R's [reduce, reuse, recycle, recover and residual management].
care like jesus
Some of our students have spent a lot of time caring for their lambs.
They were given the opportunity to show these skills at our Lamb Day.
They are definitely good shepherds!
serve like jesus
During Mission Day all the classes went out into the community to serve others.
Room 6 and 7 went to Pioneer Village to weed the gardens and clean out the old houses in preparation for their open day. They did a good job.
