St Joseph’s School Stratford is situated in Central Taranaki which has recently undergone a considerable amount of building work including a new school hall.

St Joseph's School is a community where gospel values are central, faith is nourished, and Christian celebration in the Catholic tradition is highly valued.  A Catholic culture of prayer, liturgy, and faith-based celebration is promoted in the school. Community prayer is part of daily life at the school. The school’s Catholic character is enhanced through close connection to the neighbouring parish, the Church of Immaculate Conception. There is a strong sense of fellowship in the community and the school enjoys a high level of parent /parish involvement and support.

Teaching of Reading, Writing and Mathematics is taught daily.  The wider curriculum is delivered through a weekly programme of instruction centred round the Term Inquiries/Topic through a Catholic lens. The school is a member of the Central Taranaki Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako - allowing additional professional development opportunities and connections.

Our CROSS values underpin our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L). These are promoted across the school and regular targeted lessons are being taught. The values of Caring, Sharing and Serving are the basis of our PB4L program. Children are praised and rewarded for showing these values.

CARING, SHARING AND SERVING LIKE JESUS - HE MANAAKI, HE ATAWHAI

In our safe and caring community we promote the values of: MANAAKI and ATAWHAI

Our school identifies and actively promotes gospel values:
